5 ways to protect yourself from HAZE
1. Stay Indoors
Remain indoors as much as possible and make use of air filters and air purifiers to minimize dust particles
2. Avoid Outdoor Activities
Prevent exposure to heavy outdoor activities. Keep your activities indoors, and do simple workout routines at home instead.
3. Get The Right Mask For Haze
It is not recommended to wear surgical mask as it does not actually provide proper protection for haze. Instead, make use of N95 masks that can protect and filter out 95% of the micron particles in the air.
4. Increase The Intake Of Fruits And Vegetables
Strengthen your immune systems by consuming food that are rich in vitamin A and C such as carrots, spinach, sweet potatoes, broccoli, oranges and strawberries. Vitamin A helps to protect our eyes and lungs from air pollution and Vitamin C is to rejuvenate our body cells.
5. Stay Hydrated
Most importantly, stay hydrated! Consume as much water as you can during haze season to flush out and ease the excretion of toxins from your body. Aloe vera and orange juice are great to prevent sore throat. Avoid caffeine and alcohol during the haze period because it can lead to further dehydration.
